Currently, both the Microsoft 365 and Intune integrations in Hudu require a manual App Registration process within Entra ID (Azure AD).

This manual setup is time-consuming, error-prone, and often leads to issues later — especially when authentication keys expire silently.

We would like to see this process simplified and modernized by allowing Hudu to handle the App Registration automatically using a standardized, built-in application template.

In practice, this could work as follows:

• Hudu provides a default app registration profile (with predefined permissions) under its integration settings.

• When an admin connects Microsoft 365, Hudu performs the App Registration automatically through delegated admin consent — directly from the Microsoft 365 global admin account.

• The resulting app appears in the Entra ID “Enterprise Applications” list as an officially registered Hudu integration.

• Hudu stores metadata about the registration (e.g., expiration date, client ID, tenant ID) and can notify the admin when authorization is nearing expiration.

This would eliminate the need for manual app registration and secret management, reduce setup complexity, and prevent synchronization failures caused by expired keys — an issue that currently produces no visible error in Hudu.

In short, we’re requesting a fully automated and self-managed Microsoft App Registration flow for M365 and Intune integrations, using standardized permissions and modern delegated consent.

This would greatly improve reliability, security, and ease of deployment for all environments utilizing Hudu’s Microsoft integrations.
