Would like to be able to click out of the preview without clicking the "close" or "x". = clicking outside the preview would close it. where the red arrows are.

You can now close any modal (including asset preview) by clicking anywhere outside the modal, or by hitting the esc key. 
You can also exit full screen view of photos by hitting the esc key.

Please make preview feature a per user option to have on or OFF. Our team thus far finds it annoying and slows us down in our typical workflow.
