Templated markup similar to Confluence's implementation would also be helpful, currently {{somethingHere}} already does something though.

I am coming from years of working in DokuWiki and I can't stand WYSIWYG; I miss syntax highlighting, markdown, etc. I guess I need to get better with HTML for now.

Would love to see this feature brought in - it's the main thing holding me back from moving all my documents into the Hudu KB

Still needs to be easy for those without MD experience to work with, but yes this would be great. All of my current guides are on an internal site built with MKDocs so markdown import of articles would be super helpful!

Throwing my support in on this one as well. Markdown would be so much nicer than the current rich text system.
