Markdown support

We are currently having to keep (2) versions of our markdown docs to preserve them for future imports and edits. Really need native support to flip a switch between seeing the raw and formatted view.

Given a very large percentage of documentation tools can produce markdown content, it would be very helpful to support it as well. It would make importing or automating content far easier.
OpenAI, copilot, and most AI often output in markdown, but pasting this into the editor at present results in hit and miss results.
Supporting the standard markdown syntax would help solve this problem.

Please implement full markdown support

Would love to see this, helps us keep formatting tidy and makes it quicker for those writing loads of documentation.

We’re also waiting for markdown support. It is THE standard for this type of documentation. All of Microsoft Learn is written in markdown. Really want to migrate all of our KB articles but will not convert our current nicely formatted MD articles to HTML, just to revert it back manually when true Markdown support comes to Hudu.
So please Hudu, give us Markdown so we can fully take advantage of your platform! 😃

Can we please get true markdown support instead of an HTML editor. and I don't mean that when i type markdown syntax that it transforms it into html(in a clunky way). I mean that it's truly written in markdown. You could copy paste a markdown file and it would work! a preview panel wouldn't hurt either

Yes, please implement this! Everything is documented in MD these days and we need our documentation system to support it as well.

Coming here to add my support for this feature. With the language of LLMs being heavily markdown, full support is a critical missing feature IMO.
