To add: On an asset where a second asset has a link to the first asset, an Asset Links show up in the side pane of the first asset. This has the same presentation as related items, including having a link to navigate to the linked item, but only related items offer the preview option, which is confusing because the utility and way the two are presented is otherwise the same.
