Technical documents often need updating as new technology becomes available. It would be nice to have a flag for "Needs Update" that would notify the author if the document is out of date.

this is already a feature, I've just tested it: add a expiry to a document and it will appear in Admin \ Expirations.

You can then set up email alerts.

Or, make all page types/asset types customizable with any number of fields/flag types that we can create views of.
