The Hudu Team When looking at Hudu, I just assumed that this already existed. This is a Day 1 basic feature. Not even a feature, really, a foundational function. We also need to have more granular permissions than just Block or Can Do Literally Anything To The Document Or Password. A Read Only permission at minimum. I read a KB article from 2024 about how Folder permissions were being revamped and made awesome - I don't see any evidence of this inside the Hudu trial tenant. This makes it very difficult to sell my leadership on switching to Hudu from IT Glue.

I am shocked this is 6 years older and not still in place for general security and separation of data. We will be forced to either use another data store or workaround that makes this simple need difficult and takes away from Hudu as a documentation store platform.

I'm onboard for this, also. We want to store KBs for different areas of the business that the techs should not necessarily be across. For the sake of protecting IP, I don't want my techs being able to see the process for onboarding/sales of AI clients.

Would be good if we could restrict some content in the global knowledge base the same way we can restrict companies to certain groups. If we can do this at a folder level in the knowledge base that would be super.

As I was reviewing adding a client to their own portal, I saw that if no folders exist in the client's company KB folder, it suggests adding our main Standard Operating Procedures folder (the only top level folder in our Global KB ). It would be epically bad if one of our administrators accidentally shared this global SOP folder to one of our clients if they were not paying attention. I need my techs to be able to see this folder, obviously, but NOT be able to share it outside of our company. Is there any way to accomplish this? Again, the folder permissions and functionality seems to be majorly lacking for Hudu.

Yes I also agree, this is a pretty standard requirement.

It would be nice to have folders such as a Finance folder, Operations folder, HR folder, etc within the root of the Global KB. Then we could use Groups to assign permissions. For example, members of the Finance group would have access to the Finance folder.

Yep this is what I was hoping the permissions update included; I was a little sad to see that it wasn't. I do appreciate all of the new changes we have received, but this feature would be very helpful.

Agreed. We need the ability to hide some folders from a user or users. This allows management to share documents that other employees cannot see.
