I like this idea, but I think it should be selective. For example, I don't need alerts when Windows Update does an update and the build number for Windows 10 changes. At scale, this is going to be irritating with a large number of alerts.

It would be nice to get an alert on other items such as hard drive changes, reaching a certain storage space remaining threshold, memory amount changes, and other more major items to keep track of.

No two Hudu users will use this exactly the same, so choosing what is alerted on or not will make more people happy with this feature.
