Perform Asset Link Lookups from multiple Asset Types

I would like to propose the ability to associate more than one Asset Type to an Asset Link. My particular use case is:
I have an Asset to track maintenance on an asset in a company. We have our assets separated into different types, such as Network, Server, Computer, Website etc.
I would like to create a global asset that would allow me to put when the maintenance was performed, who maintenance was performed by, asset maintenance was performed on (Which could be different types of asset types), what the scope of the maintenance was, and notes on the maintenance.
Sorry if this feature already exists, I was not able to find where to do it.

I believe this current as of 2025 how this works. You can choose All or one type. I wish you could limit to exactly what you want, such as two or three!

Yes, I agree. I have moved my synced devices from Atera out of the Desktop asset folder that I created to Laptops and Servers. I would like the ability to search those locations when doing an asset link. I have a People asset and I want to associate their laptop or their desktop, but I can only have it linked to one category.

Rack management does this with its Device field when selecting Mark as | Used by device. Could this be made available to Asset Layouts?

Andrew B. Another fine example of disorganized feature request management. There is nobody looking at these posts who knows more about the product than the userbase.
This has been my biggest frustration with EVERY software company I work with. Everyone likes to implement these silly feature request portals and they never allocate the necessary resources to properly handle the intakes.
I have seen countless ideas sitting in here for years without any attention, and here we have a feature which already exists and only needs to be expanded.
To whomever may be watching these forums... Please stop ignoring blatantly obvious feature requests that an intern could implement in an afternoon. You need TWO teams... complex features, and low hanging fruit. Tackle this from both ends, and you can bet you are going to hear from me again.

Would love to see this implemented.
It's hard to build out high-quality asset types when asset links are so rigid.

Allow linked assets to be from more than one type in field entry

You currently can only select a single asset type when linking from a form field. We want, for example to have a "server" with a "runs on" field that links to "Server Hardware" or "Hypervisor" or "Subscription", all of which are different types of assets. We are only able to do this after the record has been created which is sometimes not as intuitive and cannot be mandatory like a field can.

Better Asset Link with multiple links

It would be nice to have a way when you Asset Link, you can choose from two different Asset Layouts. For an example, I can choose from Server and Network Equipment. Also, if I cannot find it, it would be nice that I can still just type text in there.

This is important to us as well. Currently on asset cards we need to add multiple asset links if we pull from multiple asset types especially if we want the linked asset to show in the list. Using a relationship also doesn't work as it can not be set to required.

This is really important. Not everything fits into one box, so being able to link across different asset types is a must.

Looking for this as well. I would like my network asset layout to link to a dhcp server or gateway but either of those could be different layout types depending on the company. A dhcp server could be a firewall, or a server.
I also attempted to create separate asset types for physical servers and virtual servers so I could make different required information for each. But if I want an asset link somewhere pointing to a server I can only choose one server type for the link field.
Relationships don't work as well for this requirement since I can not set them as a required field.

THis would be a great feature to have. For example a circuit could terminate to a switch, router, or firewall asset type.
